Just 90 miles south of the San Diego/Tijuana border lies a town that is both breathtakingly beautiful and desperately poverty stricken. On Memorial Day Weekend, HopeRoad joined forces with a group of hard working and dedicated volunteers to build a brand new home for a very deserving family in Ensenada, Mexico. Anna and Arturro had been raising their three young grandchildren in a small one room trailer without running water or electricity. Thanks to the efforts of those who graciously donated, and the group that spent their weekend painting or swinging a hammer, they now have a beautiful two bedroom home in which to keep their family safe and warm. For many of the volunteers this was a life changing experience, as we were able to change an entire family’s futures with a little bit of hard work – and we had an absolute blast in the process!
